Auckland’s Pakuranga Golf Club had been looking for a way to improve the useability of its outdoor space at their clubhouse “19th hole” to something that would not only enhance the aspect but also create a more inviting environment for members and guests.
After considering several available market options and reviewing features and benefits a VelaSun® Fixed Pergola Roof was chosen for its ability to transform the club’s outdoor area into a versatile social hub that can be used year-round, and that would offer protection from exposure to NZs demanding UV and unpredictable weather, while offering a contemporary architectural finish to its existing building.
The project was completed by Louvre Roof Concepts, part of the Bask Outdoor Living trusted nationwide network. The owner, Kent and his East Auckland-based team custom-designed and installed the VelaSun to ensure a perfect fit for the space, confirming the adage that there is no such thing as “one size fits all.” Manufactured in New Zealand, VelaSun® has a Producer Statement (PS1) available, which, if required, can be used to support the building consent process and serves as a declaration that the proposed design complies with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC).
The custom designed and manufactured pergola ensured a perfect fit with the club’s existing design, and the choice of the powder coat colour Dulux® Matt Ironsand, allows it to blend effortlessly with the surrounding architecture and landscaping. Made of durable aluminium and with UV -resistant polycarbonate infill roof panels the result is a cohesive, polished outdoor space, functional for relaxation, conversation, and comfort in any season.
